From Starlight

From Starlight is an Albany, New York pop-punk and alternative rock band delivering infectious melodies, driving guitars, powerful harmonies, and high-energy live shows that never let up. Driven by infectious melodies, fast-paced guitars, and powerful vocal harmonies, the band draws inspiration from Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, The Get Up Kids, and Hot Mulligan.

From Starlight began as a solo project for vocalist, guitarist, and synth player Chris Stein. It evolved into a full band after Chris recorded guitarist Adam Gerstenberger’s group, The Uncanny Gents, and was introduced to bassist Brendan Donovan, also of Narrow North and Maggie’s Clan. Drummer Scott Ramundo completed the lineup shortly before the release of the band’s first record.

Since forming, From Starlight has brought its energetic performances to stages throughout upstate New York and Massachusetts. Chris, Brendan, and Adam share vocal duties, giving the band’s songs layered live harmonies that remain a defining part of its sound. The group has released six digital singles—including 2024’s “One Chance”—along with the 2025 EP Stars and Satellites. From Starlight also appears on DIY Goes POP! with its performance of “Vampire.”

The band recently completed its debut full-length album, The Modern Authentic. Across ten songs, the record wrestles with anxiety, isolation, inauthenticity, and the pressures of social influence under late-stage capitalism—pairing those themes with the urgency, hooks, and emotional release at the heart of From Starlight’s music.

The Modern Authentic is coming soon to streaming platforms, CD, and limited-edition electric-blue with splatter 12-inch vinyl.
